Syrianus on Theorems, Proofs, and Imagination in Geometry

I just finished writing a brief article commenting on a quotation from Syrianus' commentary on books 13-14 of Aristotle's Metaphysics.  In this passage, Syrianus gives a superb view of the Platonic doctrine of mathematical objects as risiding in the soul.  We can grasp the contents of the soul through studying geometry in the Platonic fashion, leading to the attainment of mathesis.  I have posted this on both the Via Mathesis and Academy of Neoplatonism blogs since it is relevant to both.  Please read the full article here:
